IDS UK Avoids Blue Monday

IDS UK's Blog    2012-01-16
Today has been named “the most depressing day of the year”.  Blue Monday is calculated using a number of factors, including: weather conditions, debt level, time since Christmas and low motivational levels.  However, the day which originates from a publicity campaign has failed to infiltrate IDS UK and has simply lead to a celebration of 2011.
  • The IDS UK team grew in 2011 as we welcomed a number of new faces.  Paul Pitman (Sales Director), Bella Theara (National Accounts Manager) and Lorraine Allard (Sales and Marketing Officer) joined the Sales and Marketing team to help meet a growing demand for our services.
  • The new improved sales team ensure we offered our clients the best advice when it comes to distributing information to GP surgeries and pharmacies.  With fresh talent on board IDS UK has also been able to grow its digital media and field marketing offerings

  • The Operations team has worked hard to make sure hundreds of thousands of healthcare leaflets, and posters were successfully distributed to GP surgeries and pharmacies as part of our Waiting Room Information Service.

  • During 2011 it was recognised that poster media in GP surgeries gave a good return on investment for our clients, and IDS UK increased the number of poster frames to meet demand.

  • 2011 saw a growing need for field marketing services outside our existing cycles and we carried bespoke campaigns for a number of clients including NHS Smokefree, The Central Office of Information and Macmillan.

  • IDS UK helped a number of organisations to reach the right healthcare professionals, and healthcare consumers.  Astellas, The Department of Health, McNeil Nutritionals, Johnson & Johnson and Action on Hearing are a few of the many organisations that have used our services to target the appropriate healthcare audience.

With Blue Monday drawing to a close I can safely say that IDS UK has escaped the bleakest day of 2012.  In fact Blue Monday has strengthened our positive outlook by giving an opportunity to reflect on IDS UK’s successful 2011, and has encouraged us to look forward to 2012.
